Depending on the level of experience and licensure of our therapists, we have different rates. See below for description of the levels of licensure.
- Licensed Therapists $175/clinical hour*
- Registered Associates $135/clinical hour*
- Trainees $75/clinical hour*
*A clinical hour is between 45-50 minutes depending on the age and issues of the clients. For some situations (usually couples therapy) a therapist will want to meet with the clients for 75-90 minutes and will charge for 1 ½ clinical hours. The price will be agreed upon before the start of treatment.
Licensed Therapists
Our Licensed Therapists have completed a Master’s degree, have undergone the required 3,000 hours of supervised therapy, have passed two state/board licensing exams and are practicing therapy professionally.
Registered Associates
Associates have completed a Master’s degree in Counseling, are working towards earning their 3,000 hours under the supervision of the Licensed professionals and will be eligible to take the clinical exam once those hours are completed. They are all Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and may be Associate Marriage and Family Therapists, Associate Clinical Social Workers or Associate Professional Clinical Counselors.
Trainees
Trainees have received the majority of their secondary education and are working under the supervision of the Licensed professionals to complete their practicum, the final course before they complete the Master’s degree. They are not yet registered with the BBS.
Supervisor
In addition to being a Licensed Therapist, Supervisor’s are required to take special training to oversee unlicensed therapists as they earn hours working toward acquiring their license. Every Associate and Trainee work closely with a Supervisor to ensure exemplary care.
