New Client Information

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. This section walks you through what to expect, how to schedule your first appointment, and answer general questions you may have. You’ll also find information about in-person and telehealth options.

Starting the Process

Insurance & Fees

We believe excellent mental healthcare should be accessible to everyone. This is why we try to make it affordable for everyone.

Our normal session rates are

  • Licensed Therapists $185/clinical hour
  • Registered Associates $150/clinical hour
  • Trainees $75/clinical hour

lf you pay out of pocket, we provide a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement purposes.

We are attempting to get on as many insurance panels as possible but this process takes a considerable amount of time. Currently we are in-network for Aetna.

Consent & Intake Forms

Before your first session, you’ll be asked to complete standard intake and consent forms, including informed consent and privacy practices. These forms can be completed securely online through our Client Portal and help us provide ethical, high-quality care tailored to you. They can also be downloaded at your convenience.

Client Portal

We use a HIPAA compliant software system called SimplePractice which allows clients to complete forms, access documents, schedule appointments and communicate with their clinician as appropriate. The portal helps keep your information safe and your care organized.

What to Expect in Therapy

Your First Session
Your first session is primarily focused on getting to know you. Your therapist will ask about what brings you to counseling, your goals for therapy, and relevant background information. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and get a feel for the process.

A Collaborative Process
Therapy at TVCC is collaborative and personalized. Together, you and your therapist will identify goals and develop a plan that fits your needs, pace, and comfort level.

A Safe and Respectful Environment
We are committed to creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. Our therapists are trauma-informed and work with sensitivity to each person’s story, background, and beliefs.

Growth Takes Time
Therapy is a process, and meaningful change often happens gradually. Some clients attend short-term counseling focused on specific concerns, while others choose longer-term support.
